‘She’- the Regular story
From dismay to demise, ‘She’ has to pay the price.
The moment ‘She’ is born, the hopes are all torn.
Who cares-- the new mother is in pain,
All efforts are now in vain.
Had ‘He’ been born; a successor would be ensured,
For the re-trial, they wouldn’t have been lured.
Despite all grief...
The new mother holds her; with tears in her eyes,
Why have u come baby; the mom sighs.
When the tear of her mom trickles down her cheeks;
‘She’ says ‘ Be happy mom’, let them be a freak.
I am ‘She’ mom; I am born to glow,
Show me the smile mother, not to feel low.
The mother explains...
U are not welcomed, they don’t like you dear,
U won’t be able to shine, that’s my fear.
I want to raise you with extreme love and care,
Not like a burden, begging to find a pair.
My heart winces when I see your future, years later,
Just like me; everybody’s needs, u will cater.
To this the daughter replies..
Dear mom ‘u sound so unhappy and afraid’,
I am your daughter mother, meant to upgrade.
We are fighters from within, we won’t let go,
I am not going to nod always, I will say a no.
If a ‘He’ can read, write and have a career,
I can also be independent, and be more merrier.
As she grows the mother tells her daughter..
I am so happy to see u beautiful and confident,
U are able to take care of everything without a bent.
U are my successor; no matter what the world says,
Despite all hardships and challenges; u spread your rays.
Now that you are married; responsibilities are more on you,
I know you are strong; but this phase is altogether new.
Daughter replies...
Thanks mother; being with me till this part of journey,
Now in this new phase; someone else is my attorney.
Still I will remember all your teachings,
I will bring a certain change; I will follow your preachings,
But its so hard to correct their mindset,
Despite the efforts; ‘She’s goals are never met.
But despite the ‘She’ being so successful, the vicious cycle tells her story thereafter!!
The new mother holds her; with tears in her eyes;
Why have u come baby; the mom sighs..
When the tear of her mom trickles down her cheeks;
She says”be happy mom”, let them be a freak.
I am she mom; I am born to glow,
Show me the smile mother, not to feel low.
This cycle will never break; it’s so seamless,
‘She’ is still unwanted; a ‘He’ is still a bless.
Despite how wise we become,
A daughter is yet not a welcome.
‘She’ is still a family’s add on,
Still no grief if ‘She’ is gone.
The silence should never break; else ‘She’s broken,
For ‘She’s dignity; ‘He’ should be born as a token.
Where are we going; the answer is unknown,
We are so childish, despite being grown.
It’s so sad to see this mentality nationwide,
Hold the ‘She’, ‘She’ is a pride.
Hold the ‘She’; ‘She’ is a pride.
