Josojit Dey, Poetry 2019 Shortlist,

/I SO LOVED SPRING /

/ I don’t see evenings anymore. /
/ The sighting of the crescent amiss. /
/ Arms not stretched to welcome /
/ the Stars twinkling in the sky. /
/ The Sun sets somewhere in the horizon. /
/ The western sky – a perfect canvas for a painter. /
/ Colours of blue, purple, red and yellow splashed. /
/ Birds flying back home in patterns unchanged. /
/ The Poplar trees must be swinging somewhere. /
/ The fragrance of flowers untouched. /
/ The laughter and fun not to be heard nor seen. /
/ Spring will not mesmerise anymore. /
/ Few numbers - my destiny now. /
/ I don’t see evenings anymore! /
