Poetry 2017 Longlist, Divya Garg

Gravitational Love

Beyond her eccentricity
And elliptical nature
He gravitates towards her
Every 27.3 days

The alluring beauty she holds
And the undying charm he has
Seemingly moving in the same direction

Orbiting around their own axis’s
Moving anti clockwise
Defying and denying all odds

To come closer
She beautifully wraps him in her arms
And he passes directly behind her
Entering every eclipse into her umbra

Periodically he wanes for few days
And then again waxes day by day
To regain his endless charisma

And become full moon
To yearningly glare her again in the night

Poetry 2016 Longlist, Divya Garg

Infinity and Beyond

Intertwined and Entangled
In the futility of life
Running and chasing
For the living
Every day I woke up
With the clasped hands
And the waning sight of wishful dreams
Every night I sleep
With the realization
Of the lost minutes
Is this Life
Or is Life something beyond!
The developed embryo
Or the advanced Foetus
Has it taken the desired form?
Lost in the mediocrity
Soaring and Plummeting
In the rat-race
Mislaid myself
Scenic aesthetics
Whooshing into my veins
That pull me closer
Towards the ultimate reign
Reverberations of the whirling winds
Transcend me to the other horizon
And I merely wonder
Will I surrender myself
Or my existence.
And then just ponder
Is this Life
Or is Life something beyond!

Poetry 2015 Longlist, Divya Garg

Carnival of Rust

Is it the Carnival of Rust?
Or the celebration of broken trust
Has the Wheel of Fortune still turning
Or the scheduled rounds are concluded

Is this the thud of gust?
Or the whoosh of explosion
Has the sun yet to shine
Or the rain still crying

Is this the fĂȘte of trounce
Or the festivity of whine
Has the dream yet to prolong
Or the Nightmare has affirmed conquest

Is it the Carnival of Rust?
Or the matter of broken trust
