Before You
Before you judge me,
Pause—
And take the time to know me.
Once you know me,
Try to understand me.
Walk a mile in my shoes,
Trace the path I’ve wandered—
Through storms and sunlight,
Through silence and sound.
See the dreams I’ve dared to dream,
The ones I’ve carried quietly,
Like fragile lanterns
Through the long, uncertain night.
Feel the weight of my sorrow,
The ache behind my smile.
Be present in my laughter,
And celebrate my joy.
I am like a book upon a shelf—
Worn edges, faded spine,
But rich with stories
That wait to be known.
So don’t judge me
By my cover alone.
Read me—fully, deeply,
And only then
May you truly understand.
